Antidepressants are a class of drugs used to treat various mood disorders including depression. These medications help stabilize a person's brain chemicals to improve mood. It's important to meet with your doctor, carefully evaluate your circumstances, and put together a plan that safely allows you to decrease your antidepressant dosage over several weeks or months. Because these drugs affect different chemicals in your brain, you may experience physical and emotional symptoms when the medication is discontinued. It is necessary and important that you consult your doctor so he/she can plan a specified taper schedule for you and can discuss any withdrawal symptoms that you may experience after the discontinuation of the medication. Further, you can also contact us to seek counseling to deal with your problem.

Hello Practo User I can understand how your symptoms might be impacting your life and it might be due to withdrawal of medicines. Consult your psychiatrist for medicine related help. Try doing some relaxation exercises such as yoga and meditation, Try going for daily walk as it would help you in boosting up your mood. Try spending time on activities which interest you. Share quality time with friends and family and talk out your thoughts and feeling to them. It is advisable that you consult clinical psychologist for psychotherapy session and better management of symptoms as depression requires combination therapy i.e. medicines along with psychotherapy. It is quite possible that there was a dependency on the drugs. I would suggest that psychotherapy would be great for you. It can help you deal with your symptoms in a healthy and drug free way. Post medication maintenance is required.
