Depression is not a physical problem. It's a mental illness which is treatable. You will have better results with medicines along with psychotherapy. The response of your family members may be because of their ignorance of the situation. Psychoeducation is required for them. You may discuss this issue with your Psychiatrist during your next visit. The family support is very essential for the better outcome of the treatment. The family members will be informed about the nature of the illness and the support they should render.
