Diabetic Retinopathy in both eyes
Dear Sir/Mam, My mother had a cataract surgery in the left eye in the month of January, 2020. However, she started complaining of some swelling in the eye and lesser visibility in the month of september. Post visiting the same hospital, doctor said that she has retina issues in both eyes and would need to undergo treatment For some expensive injections. Please understand how this can be cured with medicines if possible and what are the costs and time to heal related with this. Her Hb1ac remains in the range of 6.8 to 7.4 and morning fasting sugar is usually In range of 130 to 160.

Diabetic retinopathy should not be taken lightly.... Get OCT test done and see an ophthalmologist, it can be treated with injections and lasers but unfortunately there is no medicine or eye drops
Next Steps
See an ophthalmologist

Diabetic retinopathy is common problem in long standing, in controlled diabetic patients . Your HbA1c is indicative of good control .  Diabetic retinopathy can be treated by Lasers and Intra vitreal injections . Injections are expensive and give temporary benefits and need to be taken regularly . Also they are only option in few cases . Kindly send reports and pictures for better understanding.
