Disc protrusion
Sir.. I have been back pain since last 8 month..i did MRI first time shown " l5s1 level disc protrusion with facet joint orthropathy without nerve root compression " but 2nd time yesterday i did MRI its shown the same as earlier but shown one thing more that is " incidental finding : there is 7 mm sized cystic lesion , hypertense on T2 & STIR sequence & hypointense on T1W1 , noted within left para spinal muscle adjacent to L2 L3 vertebral body " i just want to know what is incidental finding..

Incidental finding is the one which is noticed in an investigation but doesn't have any direct relation to patient's complaints
