Disturbed sleep for prolonged period
Hello, I have been waking up multiple times ( minimum 2 times) in the night after falling asleep. When I wake up, I usually eat something sweet or carbs. This happens every night for almost 3 years now. The lack of sleep leaves me irritable, drowsy and lethargic the next day. Its affecting my mood and work during the daytime. I had consulted a psychiatrist for this around a year back. I was given a low dose sleeping pill for 14 days which did not work, I still woke up at night. I would like to know what to do or which specific doctor to consult to treat this once and for all. Thank you in advance.

it needs further work up to rule out any physical/ psychological cause of insomnia. you can go for a basic whole body package from any reputed path lab and also opt for a basic sleep study and then consult back.

Dear Mam I cam imagine it must be quite frustrating for you. Disturbed sleep is a symptom and we need to find out the cause for your sleeplessness. Sleep problems can occur due to several reasons like persistent stress, too much activation for eg too much screen time before bed, it can occur in mental health problems like depression or anxiety. We need to find the cause and it will help us treat insomnia effectively. Please see a psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and further management which will depend on the outcome of assessment. You can try certain sleep hygiene techniques like regular exercise and meditation, relaxation techniques like calm breathing before bedtime, restrict use of nicotine and caffeine, restricting screen time before bed. Please see a psychiatrist for further help. Feel free to contact me. Thanks Regards Dr Ankita Mishra

Hi Just try this recommended suggestion for 21 days, If it's not working out,  you can see a general physician. 1. Wake up at 5am,  refresh yourself and do exercise for 45 mins to 1 hr. 2. Breakfast time: 7 to 8am 3. Do your usual daily activities and don't sleep or take nap in the afternoon. 4. Dinner at 7.30am 5. No mobile usage after 8.30pm. 6. Hope your bedroom must clean and dark. Do a deep breathing for 6 times and read a BORING BOOKS for 15 mins. This will make your sleep hormones promotion. 7. Say to yourself that " You are getting deep sleep " for 5 times. Also JPMR works, but you need to consult a psychologist. 8. Even though of your don't get sleep follow this for 5 days.
Next Steps
If you don't get sleep otherwise,  don't sleep for whole night and next day too. automatically you will get sleep in next night.
Health Tips
Take milk and honey in the night Aswangantha capsule
