DMARDS and Inflammation
Dear Dr Sir... I am taking the DMARDS (15mg of Mtx(weekly) 500mg of Sulfasalazine and 200mg of HCQS daily) From 15feb2020...along with 8mg of medrol... When i try to reduce steroids dose... Inflammation in right knee(cartilage is slightly damage) and foot again coming up.. Kindly suggest what to do for reducing inflammation and pain. My RF report is 98

Taking oral steroids with mtx.. For long time can cause serious side effects. Switch over to milder drugs with intrarticular injection (stat), you may also opt for fluid culture and assay.

Consult rheumatologist who may put you on biologicals. Meanwhile continue HCQ, Methotrexate, Sulfasalazine and will need to taper down steroid dose slowly.

Please continue with same medicine for few more days before reduction of steroids dose.
