Dog   Bite
If a pet dog bites me 8 months back and is still alive till now does it mean it's free from rabies or any chance of having it. And transmit the virus to us. Q1. In some circumstances for example a vaccinated dog got rabies, whether the dog can be saved from that. Q2. How long a rabid dog can survive. Q3. I have not taken any ARV shots so far. Should I be worried or need to take it  by now.

If the dog survived more than 10 days, that indicates the dog is free free from rabies on the day of the bite If the dog is vaccinated and got biten by rabies infected animals, then the vaccine immunity will protect the dog. The time taken for the virus to reach the brain of the dog varies, but only after the virus reaches the brain will the animal actively spread the virus.so it the virus reaches the brain the animal will die with in 10 days Since the dog is fine more than 8 months, no need to worry.
