Dry cough and irritation
Hello Doctor Am facing occasional dry cough from recent days...it's hurting throat and feel like itchy throat.the cough suddenly comes like if we open suddenly a chilly powder packet we urge to sneeze at that time like d same way some sort of urgeness to cough is being felt..no other symptoms not even cold or phelgum can strained throat cause the cough? Coz I teach online so throat stress is more so are these two things related?please suggest remedies or could it be gerd cough? Thank you

As u say it comes when u open chilly powder packet which is likely to suggest that it is triggered by an allergen (chilly powder)..So kindly make a note on when u get the episodes. Also since u teach, frequent phonation results in dryness of throat so kindly keep a bottle of water next to you n take sips in between which wil help But incase it is consistent and doesn't come down with precautions do see a doctor

Hi. Cough can be because of an irritation in throat (infection or gerd ), trachea and lungs (asthma, infection etc).
Next Steps
consult an ent surgeon for symptoms of COVID 19 , get a COVID 19 RT PCR test done, chest x ray, sputum test for culture/sensitivity, CBP for eosinophilia.
Health Tips
drink warm water and avoid chilled items and avoid spicy/masala/chilli foods.
