The diagnosis of pingecula must've been by an eye specialist. If so, it by its nature leads to breaking up of the tear film and causes eye surface roughening, which is the cause of your discomfort. As long as the pingecula is present any amount of lubrication isn't going to help you. The reason for developing of pingecula is due to mainly exposure to excess sunlight. So as a precaution shield against direct exposure to excess sunlight by wearing a peaked cap, sunglasses. The treatment is to be prescribed by an eye specialist only after examination.

Dry eyes require continuous treatment with lubricant drops and some other supportive therapy. Please do not discontinue as it is management of dry eye disease and not a cure!!
