E coli uti for 5 year old son
My son is 5 yrs 1 mth old and has been having pain in genital from a week. Urine culture revealed e coli >1lakh. One Doctor suggested circumcision. Took 2nd opinion from another doctor who recommends to start antibiotic septran. I am confused on what to do. Looking for expert advice. Pls help.

You will have to start antibiotics now for 7to 10days at least. Circumcision is not urgent need. Recurring urinary infection cases may get benefit from circumcision. Repeat urine culture before stopping antibiotic.

If this is the first episode take the antibiotic. If it keeps repeating, go for circumcision
