Effect of duonase nasalspray on hiv test
Can a duonase nasal spray which I used for continuous period of 6months twice daily and the dosage being 2puffs per nostrils cause immunosuppression and result in a false HIV negative test when the hiv test was done 6years after possible exposure? As duonase consists of steroids it may cause immunosuppression and reduce the levels of hiv antibodies and cause a false hiv negative?

Studies prove Duonase nasal spray can cause local immunosuppression and minimal amount absorbing through the lungs reach systemic circulation. But no proof for causing severe systemic immunosuppression. In rare cases Hiv antibodies can go to undetected level, such as seroreversion after ART, or even rare cases of acute infection , it may not be detectable, or in severe low cd4 count.
Next Steps
Western blot, Hiv DNA PCR
