I have stopped feeling and caring about stuff that I should be worried about. And this has already affected many aspects of my life. I just automatically shut down all emotions as soon as I get stressed.

Yes it is a defence mechanism you are using to stop getting hurt. But I'm sure with help things will get better and you can improve the way you approach problems. This needs a one on one consultation. I would recommend you meet a psychiatrist for help
