Enquiry about injection
Dear Doctor, My mother is currently diagnosed in rheumatoid SLE. She's been having medicines like Predmet, Medrol, Hcqs given by the doctor for long term past 15 years.but changed to other doctor from past 3 years  ,this roctor gave MMF 500 adding to the other medicines and this doctor has recommend to take injection of Rituximab, its costly and doctor said if there is side effect ,we can stop injection immediately. I want to know, if my mother takes this injection what are the pros and cons? And will her health get more terrible condition or the disease will get arrested or cured.doctor suggested this injection for disease need to get arrested instead of having medicines.please guide me ..

Dear, As you might be knowing SLE Rheumatoid are auto immune diseases and available medicines have it's own side effects. Rituximab is one of the newer treatment options biologicals which are found to be very effective with lesser side effects but it's bit costly.. You may discuss with your doctor for any biosimilars of rituximab which is cheaper.
