Hello team, i have some EnT issue post pregnancy . doctors asking me to get MRI brain(contrast) test to findout some rootcause . is it ok to breastfeeding mommy to take those injections(part of scan , i need to take these they mentionin) i have 5 month breast feeding baby.. i have cncern that is it safe to take as i m feeding baby? if not any precautions i can take?

There are two types of dye for MRI ionated and gadolinium. Both of them are rapidly excreted from body in few hours. Baby absorbs 0.01% of ionated and 0.004% of gadolinium dye, which is very safe amount. Hence breastfeeding can be continued. If you are still anxious, Express and store your feed for next 12 hours and give to baby

Yes you can BF your baby...as very very small amount of contrast excreated in BM...

You better wait for 72 hours to feed your baby as by that time dye will be washed away from body
