Eosinophilia
Why my Eosinophils no is 17% ie 1800? I have taken cotrimoxazole 160/800 tablet twice a day for 10 days and then taken trimethoprime 200mg twice a day for another 15 days. But I went for CBC after 10 days of stoping these medicines. Is eosinophil high due to allergy ? Because since when I started taking these medicines I was feeling some rash on my body. What should I do now ?

Did the rash develop immediately after consuming the tablet, in which case you should record it and have it looked immediately to confirm if you have an allergy to the medication. If the rash was present at the time of giving the blood, it would explain the increase in eosinophil count. Apply a calamine lotion of the rash and have an anti histamine to normalize the reading and treat the rash. If the rash is persistent or worsens visit the dermatologist at the earliest.
