Hello....There is no permanent treatment for dry eyes....treatment is multifold....
1. Investigate to rule out any autoimmune disease
2. Treat meibomitis because meibomitis is commonly associated with dry eyes and aggravate dry eyes.
3. Lubricating eyedrops
4. Cyclosporine eyedrop to treat associated inflammation
5. If still no improvement then try punctal plugs
6. Avoid exposure to direct air
7. Blink a lot
8. Cold compresses
Consult a cornea specilist and follow him...there is no cure but treatment will improve the quality of life

Dry eye condition is not "curable", but the affected person can get good relief & comfort by using a combination of lubricant eye drops and, if necessary, gels. The comfort levels continue only if the eye medications are used. The condition returns if eye drops are stopped. There are additional procedures which can give longer relief, but the need for such treatments is determined by the severity of the condition, presence or absence of other health conditions which can worsen the dryness problem and finally by the treating ophthalmologist. Evaluation of the eyes needs to be meticulous, so that any other factors contributing to the dry eye can be effectively tackled.
