Hello Your symptoms are suggestive of sub conjunctival hemorrhage This is benign and don't need treatment Having said that it is provisional diagnosis Kindly share photos of your eye so that I may guide you better Regards

follow the advice of dr Arju singh and please also do cold compresses 2to3 times daily.

It may be due  to sub conjunctival hemorrhage ,at the age of 62 yrs it happens without reason ,get checked your BP,, status of blood sugar or taking aspirin ,it will disappear in two weeks , you may use Tobrex eye drops 3-4 times till redness disappears .
