Long hours of screen time can cause computer vision sydrom or digital eye stain Look away. Rest your eyes if you're using the computer for extended periods. After two hours, take a 15-minute break. And, for every 20 minutes of use, look away for 20 seconds at something 20 feet away (the "20-20-20 rule"); this will allow time for your eyes to refocus. Staring at a computer can result in dry eyes, which can be painful and irritating. To keep the front surface of your eye moist, blink frequently. It's also wise to keep some lubricating drops handy. Sit properly. Besides sitting on a comfortable, padded chair that conforms well to your body and sitting with your feet flat on the floor, you sit about 25 inches from the screen (or about arm's length). The screen should be positioned so that you are looking in a slightly downward position. Cut the glare. You can reduce it by using a matte screen filter. Adjust the brightness. The screen should not be brighter than the surrounding light To reduce eyestrain, try adjusting the lighting in your room and at the same time, increasing the contrast on your screen.

This is a common issue faced by persons in the IT field. Please keep the computer at a good distance, and always below the eye level as this prevents excessive drying. Also follow the rule of 20, for every 20 minutes of computer use look at an object 20 feet away for 20 seconds. blink frequently and completely as one tends to forget to blink while concentrating on something. If these measures are not sufficient you can use artificial tears like refresh tears or lubrex eye drops 3 to 4 times per day for 10 to 15 days.

The symptoms that you have are due to dryness of the eyes caused by excessive screen time. Take 20 seconds breaks in between every 20minutes, and look at something faraway at 20 feet and then continue your work. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.
Next Steps
use refresh tears eye drops -1drop- 4times a day in both eyes for a month
