Facial edema
Had titanium plates removed from maxillary area in June. Swelling/pain has not subsided and has gotten worse especially the last couple weeks. Should I be alarmed?

Pain and swelling in the area of plate removal may be because of infection of the bones. You may need to undergo CT scan of facial bones to identify if there is any infection. Once diagnosis is confirmed treatment can be planned
Next Steps
Consult nearby maxillofacial surgeon for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
