Hello there, Depression, feeling worthless isn't the end of the road. There is hope, u can be treated and get back to be happy the way u were before. Feeling insecure, low and worthless when u face a disappointment in life is a normal feeling. But u might b having Clinical Depression  if: 1. U feel low and sad all the time 2. you have lost interest in ur favourite activities/hobbies 3. if u sleep too much or get up too early in the morning 4. if u eat too much these days or u have lost ur appetite, additionally u will feel tired all the time and not having energy to do ur day today work. And these feelings should b present for at least 2 weeks continuously.
Next Steps
Regarding your bad past experience, u should prepare urself mentally, catch hold of a trustworthy friend or family member or a counselor and speak out all the pain u have inside you. It helps if u share ur  problems as against trying to suppress it deep inside. If u think ur not able to come out of ur worthless feeling and low mood u need therapy sessions with your counselor. If you feel your feelings and emotions are extremely disturbing and ur not able to cope at all, u should be started on medicines by a psychiatrist immediately.
Health Tips
Remember life has its ups and down. Expecting from and depending upon your life partner isn't wrong in any way, but any given time you must also try to understand situations from his perspective. Instead of silently expecting something, it's better to ask for it directly.
