Filariasis
Today early morning at home in Hyderabad I got bitten by light brown colored mosquito probably Culex I guess. I read in an article Culex spreads Wucheleria brancoffti now am concerned that I will be victim of filariasis. Are there any diagnostic tests available to know about microfilaria in blood and what to do to kill microfilarial parasites in blood could you tell me any drug to take

Without any symptom its unfair to seek treatment. Our body has very powerful defence mechanism to combat many infectios. Now as u r curious to know about filariasis then i would inform u that by blood test u can get an idea about infectio n and DEC (diethyl carbimazine) is given to patient havig filariasis. But i would strongly say that its unnecessary and unwise to run tests and take tablet in ansence of any disease symptoms.
