Foot Corn or Callous
Hello Doctor, i have a Corn or Callous on my left Sole. It is painful at times. How is the painless course of treatment? How to remove it under local anaesthesia? How long it takes to heal and how many days bed rest ? Is it covered under insurance? Any medicine that can heal with procedure or dissolve it ?

Hello!! Corn is basically formed due to thickening of skin in the pressure bearing area. The line of treatment is surgical excision which is done under local anaesthesia. The recovery period is usually 5-7 days. Your doctor will surely provide you with a course of antibiotics and pain killers post procedure to avoid any discomfort post procedure. If you are comfortable you can resume work the next day.
Next Steps
Change your footwear every couple of months to change the weight bearing /pressure area of your foot. This is help prevent recurrence.
