Frequent and recurrent typhoid
My mother have typhoid from may years and from last 2 years she is getting positive in every six monthly. S typhi O 1:80 S typhi H. 1:80 Always getting these values whenever she get headache and consult a doctor. Then doctor prescribed medicine and it is ongoing from last many years. How to treat typhoid completely as she is now frustrated of getting positive tests always and have headache.

The titers can be positive for some time even if the patient is not having the infection at that moment. To confirm we need to clinically evaluate the person and do blood culture reports.

If The titer  you mentioned never going above 1:80 ....and she is not having fever or abdominal pain ...then don't worry ! Many labs will give you faulty reports ...if you are still concerned you can send her blood cultures ...
