My child has been diagnosed with g6pd deficient after Guthrie test. He is just 1 month old. I understand that child needs to avoid certain drugs and food for lifelong but can this deficiency affect the baby development in any ways ?

G6pd deficiency generally causes hemolytic anemia(breakdown of rbcs) after certain drugs, food and infections.generally it doesn't affect growth and development (though there are very very rare exceptions -rare varieties with chronic anemia, associated other enzyme deficiencies)
