Gap left after wisdom tooth extraction
After extraction of lower 3rd molar and removal of sutures, there is a hole visible. Will this cause lodgement of food particles and become vulnerable to infections? Will it get covered by healing process or something needs to be done about it?

Hi You got your tooth removed. If it was due to infection/caries/Cavity that means you are on disposal of bacterial load in mouth. You must enquire your oral hygiene routine. Whatever needs to do to heal a wound, is required here as well. Be kind and aware about your teeth, gums, mouth as a whole. Whole day eating is done at small intervals. A very small grain is a multiple day food for microorganisms living in mouth. Every human being has microorganisms in mouth. You need to eradicate them on routine basis. Words would be less to explain to you the importance of oral hygiene. Hole- it is obvious to have hole as tooth is being pulled out. The surrounding gums will take over surely. That cavity /hole will go with in weeks.
Next Steps
brush with paste in morning, plain brush after breakfast to take out food pieces between teeth, apply hexigel over the area where tooth was extracted, do mouth wash clohex ads after lunch, do brush with paste after dinner and apply hexigel.
Health Tips
Follow routine to prevent yourself from other dental diseases.

It will heal , but keep that area clean , especially rinse the mouth with salt water for 5-6 times a day after food. See the dentist after 4 weeks if it doesn’t disappear.
