Receding gums is usually due to compromised oral hygiene that may lead to bone loss surrounding the tooth and mobility thereafter. Do visit a nearby dentist ASAP to get your teeth cleaned via scaling and polishing and let the doctor decide if any other surgical treatment is required or not.

Namaskaram,
Taking care of your gums is like managing high school relationships, always complicated. There are various reasons for gum recession. It could be due to the genes that you carry, poor oral hygiene, rigorous brushing (generally seen on the left side, as most people have dominant right hands), grinding and clenching your teeth. Habits such as smoking also have a huge impact on the health of gums. Only the later stages need the attention of a dental professional. Procedures involve open flap scaling and root planning followed by regeneration. Initial stages can be taken care off with your own attention itself. Brushing twice daily and using mouthwashes can help you for good. Reminding yourself that you are not scrubbing tiles before brushing will take care of the rigorous brushing. Considering a dentist's opinion would be wise. "Its Better Safe Than Sorry" they say. It holds true for both hygiene and relationships.
