Hair fall and slow regrowth
I am suffering from hairfall. New hair growth is so slow and day by day my hair volume is going down..i have hypothyroidism dignosed 6 years ago..in between i neglected medicine but now i am regular and last time i checked TSH LEVEL was 5.8..so the doctor suggested me to continue thyroxine 50 mg. What should i do for controlling hair fall and growth of new hair.

Hairfall is not due to one single cause. There are many conditions which can cause extreme hair loss and thinning of hair on the scalp. So first and foremost we have to find the cause of hair fall with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes maybe nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia also called pattern baldness, hypothyroidism, telogeun effluvium etc. Unless we find and c,read the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Also one should refrain from home remedies as it does not give any relief from hairfall. Hairfall is multifactorial. Hypothyroidism can cause hairloss but there may be many other reasons.
