Why does dermatologists and tricologist wait for fda approved treatments? Is it the only field lacking research and randomised controlled trials? Because in all other medical fields the physicians dont wait for the lazy fda to aprove treatments. I myself use and have seen the best doctors and the medical books stating non fda aproved treatments. I here see dermatology the only branch playing the safe game and not concerned with effects. My all dear dermats don't you felt so too while doing your MD? Is it not monotonous trying to force your patients with minoxidil and finesteride knowing you have seen only a few positive results with least patient compliance?

We don't wait for FDA approved treatment. Every field is governed by rules. Pediatrics has a governin body, medicine has a body, gynacs have a body. There has to be some governing  a body to make rules. Otherwise we will be quacks giving untested medicines. Minoxidil and finesteride have to been tested for years and gives very good results. It's not the fault of doctor if compliance is poor. I have 100 plus patients who have good results with minoxidil and finesteride.
