Hair loss and scalp problem.
Age - 24 I am suffering from hair loss and receding hairline from some years now. The situation is not too bad but its like type1/type2 baldness. But even at the part where there are hair, the quantity is not too good. My individual hair strands are also thinner and lighter than normal people. So I have less hair in the crown area and somewhat at the front. Rest allover there are hair but you can still see my scalp through majority of portions. Also there is a scalp condition where I get this dandruff like thick flakes covering my scalp even after 2 days of shampoo. My hair fall has been quite slow....been suffering from this for 8-9 years now. Now I am searching for a good doctor/clinic to get this treated. I am also considering FUE method and other methods like micro scalp pigmentation. But for now I dont know this for sure. Still weighing my options. Need an expert to guide me through this. Also, if you can..please tell me the cost of hair transplant/ micro scalp pigmentation.

Thanks for the query. Male pattern baldness (MPB) is an increasing problem in today's society. Hair care is a daily ritual shaped by age, gender, socioeconomic status and internal health. With increasing affordability people are more aware of the cosmetic appearance and hair fall forms a major part of the complaints. It is more difficult to manage if there is a family member with similar hair fall, it indicates genetics and we know that the person is destined to lose hair if not intervened and corrective measures are not taken. The treatment typically consists of usage of oral medication (Finasteride) and topical lotion (Minoxidil in 5% strength). One needs to be patient with the treatment protocol as it takes months to see initial improvement. Minoxidil is recommended by US-FDA for indefinite usage. Certain dermatologists supplement biotin, hair serum and advice procedures like PRP therapy which may accelerate the rate of hair growth. PRP needs multiple sessions (4-6) roughly at 6 weeks intervals. PRP therapy is increasingly being accepted by dermatologists all over the world. Apart from active pharmaceutical medicines, a healthy diet and lifestyle is mandatory to achieve results.
