Hairline fracture in 5th metatarsal bone
Is plaster really necessary for hairline fracture in 5tg metatarsal bone? I can walk but have swelling. If I don't want to put on plaster what is the other step I can take up to cure it?

Is it 5th metatarsal base fracture ?.If it is then you should get plaster . Orthopaedic surgeon after seeing x ray can discuss other options if possible .it depends on fracture and site.

Only option you have here is a slab, cast or surgery with screw fixation..

Do not ignore a 5th Metatarsal fracture, these are avulsion fracture which commonly go for Non Union if no treatment is taken.
