Hard stool
Baby is 8 months old. I am giving porridge of carrot,dal,potato,ragi.Giving juices of guava,pomo,sapodilla,dry raisins,black grapes..giving water n bm...my baby passed hard stool..she is crying..sometimes blood comes in stool..she is going every 3-4 days..plz suggest some remedy for baby to soften the stool n make her to pass stool daily??

Give plenty of water to drink. Give orange juice with sugar added. Give lactulose or PEG solutions as a last remedy. Dilate the anal canal by applying xylocaine ointment by little finger.

Passing blood in stool is alarming sign of constipation, it might have caused some injury to anus / path way of stool .

Polyethylene glycol syrup will help in relieving constipation so the pain associated

Try adding  green vegetables to the porridge,try rice daal khichdi with veggies instead of ragi.exclude pomegranate juice from the diet for the time being as it causes constipation.

Hi, Give fruits mashed, instead of juices. Give green leafy vegetables and water frequently. Avoid biscuits and cows milk.
