Low iron/Hb too can cause poor appetite. Need detailed discussion about his diet,  weight,  height and since when he is not gaining weight.

Being thin is NOT a sign of Ill health. The two most important signs of good health in children are activity level and height and weight, which should be in range for that age,And also increasing over a period of time. Just ensure a healthy balanced diet at FIXED timings and stick to it. Give 2 milk feeds using a glass and 3-4 solid meals including curd and Banana in the diet. Do NOT rely on supplements or appetite stimulants.
