Head Flatness
Hello Dr This query is wrt my son 6 months old. From birth he prefers right side, that his right back head has now become flat with slight forehead bulge on right and right ear is little shifted. We are repositioning, but no improvements . Also he rolls only to right. Head circumference 44cm. Will the head shape correct on its own? Will the flatness cause any other problem? Apart from repositioning what can be done? Pediatrician i consult asked us to check with a neurologist. Thankyou

Hi .. Yes most of the times because positioning on one side only , flatness can happen in one portion of head . But at the same time , we need to rule out early closure of cranial sutures which might cause abnormal shape of head . It's better to visit physically for clinical examination. How are the milestones/developmental ?
Next Steps
* continue frequent change of position * consult pediatric neurosurgeon physically once for clinical examination
