I have high functioning anxiety from childhood my college days I went through a bad exduringperience I had a huge panic attack I had double sided tension headache, now I have right sided headache only for about a year ,some how coping with anxiety.Should I approach neurologist for my headache first or should I approach psychiatrist for my anxiety please guide me.

If you are feeling tension type headache, you should go for neuro-imaging to rule out any organicity and then if it comes out normal, you should visit a psychiatrist as these headaches can also be caused due to underlying anxiety as well.

Headache can happen due to multiple reasons. Usually headache due to neurological causes will have other prominent symptoms, where as headache due to psychological causes will have underlying anxiety. Headache due to stress or due to anxiety will be evaluated and managed by a psychiatrist. However, It is purely your choice to choose your speciality doctor.
