Most likely you are having age related hearing loss.. Just as eyes lose there power in older age, ears also lose the ability to hear. The treatment is to use a hearing aid. If u visit a nearby ent specialist he will get a audiometry done and prescribe a hearing aid

There are many causes for hearing loss such as sensory neural hearing loss, eustachian tube dysfunction, chronic otitis media, otosclerosis, acoustic trauma etc. Treatment depends on identifying cause for your problem
