Hiatal Hernia
My wife has been suffering from GERD for the last many years . She also suffers from asthma. Endoscopy was done 5 years back and treatment with PPI's started. The acidity problem occurs regularly and is now under control with PPI's. Recently as symptoms got worse another endoscopy was done and hiatal hernia confirmed Gastroenterologist has recommended Nissen's Fundoplication using Laparoscopy . Now we have heard that there are many side effects for this surgery such as dysphagia, inability to belch/vomit etc and the same is not full proof . Surgeon is an expert and has done many such surgeries. But we are worried . Please advise ?

Laparoscopic Nissen's fundoplication if properly done...floopy 270 degree wrap..never causes such symptoms.. Some times these symptoms are transient.. But disappear in a month time..don't worry..go ahead with surgery
