High fever and stomach pain

Sir my 3years and 10 months old child is suffering from fever for last 5 days today at 4 am I have given maftal p syrup at empty stomach and he is complaining about stomach pain

Fever for more than 72 hours needs to be formally evaluated...to find out the root cause..meftal can cause gastric discomfort if given in empty stomach

Most fevers in children are viral in origin and take 3-7 days to subside completely. If not accompanied by any other symptoms like vomiting or loose motions or coughing and breathlessness or dullness and refusal to feed,just give paracetamol for fever and repeat every 4 hours if required. Don't give any medicine on empty stomach,unless specified by the doctor. If not improving OR accompanied by above,consult your paediatrician.
