High lead level in blood
My relative got diagnosed with high lead levels in his blood. What is the process for lead extraction? Is there any medicine?

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  Furtger exposure needs to be stopped. And chelation therapy should be done to get rid of the lead in the body. Kindly consult a physician at a good hospital near you and get admitted. They will do the needful. You cannot do such things at home. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.

Chelation therapy is the treatment of choice, esp EDTA or Penicillamine, but rarely used these days, very hard to find in market. He needs to be hospitalized urgently and steps must be taken to trace the source of lead poisoning. We have treated one such case recently where source of poison was from 'native medicine' taken for jaundice.
