High myopia
I am having high myopia, and recently I have examined my eye by a docter and found that even with my -9d can be corrected as my eye thickness was 585um , but I am afraid about my eye power what should be done in order to not deteriorate my eye health as I have seen many articles in internet that high myopia causes many problems in longer run , please help with suggestions and I am ok with virtual consultation

Hi Lasik can be done as per the thickness part provided other things are normal as well. There are increased incidence of certain conditions in high myopia, but still that incidence is very low. Do regular checks and be vigilant about those signs . Any eye doctor should brief you. Rest, no one can predict future, do not stress.

Hello , yes your -9 number is correctable with this much corneal thickness and with the advance of technology in Ophthalm , it’s absolutely safe to undergo the procedure and there are many options (safest ) available , would be slightly costlier than the conventional ones. And before planning for the Lasik etc , we do examine retina and everything thoroughly . One more very important thing is ... don not Google and search on internet if u really trust your doctor .
