Myopia has a genetic predisposition, esp.high myopia (>6dsp) .It has various genetic predisposition in individuals some have (AD)Autosomal dominant,(AR)autosomal recessive,(XLR)X linked recessive. In some patients mutation of LEPREL1 has been associated with nearsightedness. So percentage can be better judged after both of your genetic analysis.Poor habits, environment, diet ,lifestyle also play an important role.
