High SGPT and SGOT
My friend has some problems with digestion. He consumes alcohol almost regularly. Recently he had undergone liver function test and the results indicated abnormally high rate of SGOT- 350 & SGPT-379. He has not consulted any yet. So can you please explain what does this indicate.

Hello......... AST (SGOT) and ALT (SGPT) are reasonably sensitive indicators of liver damage or injury from different types of diseases or conditions...But it's not confirmatory ,liver ultrasound is required and he has to consult general physician. Only after examination one can say something...
