My 18 months child has 6.5 hemoglobin what I have to do doctor says he need to blood transfusion

Firstly the cause for such low hemoglobin has to be identified. Hence further tests may be required. After identification of cause appropriate treatment to be given. Blood transfusion is required as hemoglobin is very low & it can be immediately increased by blood transfusion so the the oxygen content of blood is maintained & child doesn't go into complications. You can actually consult a pediatric hematoncologist.
