Hip surgery post
I was operated on March 25 on hip with DHS ,what is the healing and recovery time,I am doing all my small jobs by my own but when googling I found there are many chances of malunion,avn,conversion,but my doctor told my surgery and post x-ray is fine and I am travelling out of country also.what precautions should I take .

Bone unites by 4-6 weeks. Avoid squatting or sitting cross legged for 3-4 months. Try partial weight bearing for 4 weeks then proceed to full wieght bearing . Do not run or jog or play sports for 5-6 months. Share xrays.

After an intertochanteric fracture you don’t have an option but to get operated. I hope your surgeon had discussed the complications before surgery. I’d suggest you to not google medical things as half knowledge is dangerous. Any doubts you should clear with your orthopaedic surgeon himself. If your surgeon says that post op X-rays are fine, I think you should trust him
