Hole in eardrum
Hi, I went for ear cleaning and doc flushed out the ear wax successfully but after 2 days it got infected(as per doc). Again I went and got medicine and it all went well but doctors said there was a large hole in my ear. At first after clearing my ear he said everything is fine and after I got infection he said it is fine, there is no hole just a infection but after that he says there is hole. I am not sure it was already their or because of fluahing the ear wax it happened. Now he is saying I have to go under surgery for that. I am attaching the picture of my ear for reference. Please look at that and help me out what to do. Thanks

It is a large hole. By the looks of it, it would have been there for a long time. Definitely not recent. Yes u have to undergo surgery for a permanent cure. Keep the ear dry

Very clearly is you a subtotal perforation of the tympanic membrane which seems to be present since many years as such perforations can't occur on matter if few days. Sometimes severe inflammation can obscure the findings and doctor may have missed it... After treatment it seem to have become clear and visible. For this condition surgery is the only permanent solution
