How to test for HPV virus status.
Hello Doctor, I am a male, 32 years old. I have two queries. 1) which doctor to go for HPV which is a type of std. 2) how to diagnose/ test HPV in male., any tests available in Bangalore . I am.married now(few yers back), but before marriage I had few encounters (protected intercourse n 3-4 times unprotected fellotio, oral). I got tested for other STDs, and they are negative. But for HPV, I could not test. HPV might cause problems for women(like cancer), since I do not know my HPV status, I do not want to spread it to my wife unknowingly., as we are doing family planning now. Kindly guide, which type of sspecialized/type of doctor to meet and what should be my next step. Thank you.

Dermatologist are venereologist means they deal with sexually transmitted infections. There is no test available to detect HPV in skin except in research settings as of now but in almost 90 percent,if infected, body clears it in one year
Next Steps
you and your spouse may take HPV VACCINE TO PREVENT infections from 4 type of HPV STRAINS WHICH ARE COMMON CAUSES OF GENITAL CANCER  AND WARTS
