Hello doctor,
I went through HSG test and my doctor said there is some water in my left tube.. uterus and right tube are fine.. before HSG, they did transvaginal ultrasound scan for the whole abdomen. This ultrasound report did not mention anything about the water in fallopian tube. My question is whether I need not bother about the hydrosalpinx since it was not found in TVS? And the water in left tube which was found in HSG x-ray could be a misinterpretation?

Dear Practo user, Hydrosalpinx will be visible on the USG only if the fluid content is very high. HSG will seldom diagnose hydrosalpinx correctly. So in all probabilities you have a hydrosalpinx. This will reduce your chances of conception be half since there is only one healthy tube.
Hydrosalpinx also interferes with your embryo sticking to the uteruss and thus decreases your chances of pregnancy.
Please visit your gynecologist for further plan of management
Next Steps
In case you do not conceive in next two months, plan a laparoscopic evaluation of the tubes and proceed accordingly
