Hypothyroid
My throid levels were 3.2 in July 2018. Then I caught dengue (DHF) n later recovered after one week in ICU. In sep 2019 it was 8.3 and Anti TPO was positive with some value about 230. I was gaining weight, sleeplessness was there with bad hair falls. I was given Thyrox 25... I started it in october 2019. In january this year TSH levels were 7.1... in Mid Mar 2020 it was 5.6 and yesterday it came out as 2.0. I wanted to ask should I continue the medicine or stop it? T3 and T4 has always been in the normal range. I am posted here in a rural place and I need to travel far to see a doctor. Can any of our esteemed doctors kindly advise? Thanks in advance.

Most of the thyroid ( hypo ) patients have autoimmune throid. Hence U should keep taking your thyroid tablet regularly. Make sure you get Your thyroid profile tested every 3 months.
Next Steps
Regular follow up is necessary 3 months once.
Health Tips
Make sure you also doesnt have any symptoms you mentioned above . Simply a normal THYROID PROFILE doesn’t mean a normal thyroid gland .

Dear Sir You most likely have autoimmune hypothyroidism ( underactive thyroid) or hashimotos disease. You will need to be on thyroid replacement life long. I would suggest a blood test twice yearly. Aim for TSH levels between .35- 4.5. If you experience symptoms like before then get another thyroid function test and the dose of thyroxine can be tweaked. I would appreciate if you can tell me if you are on any other medication/ medical condition that would interfere with thyroid function.
Next Steps
Continue thyroxine and repeat test in a few months
