Hypothyroid
My wife is a hypothyroid patient. She has been taking 100mcgbfor a long while. Due to stress she stopped taking it and few days she was very depressed and anxiety. She isnhving a sleepless night for past few days. One of the doctor prescribed zolfresh 10 mg..is it safe..just a second opinion

Hello.. Stopping thyroid medication may lead more to sleepiness and depressive symptoms.. So never stop thyroid In between.. Consult psychiatrist also for depression

It's not advisable to stop thyroid medicine. She should have a TSH test done n the dose adjusted. Abnormal TSH can also give her the symptoms including sleeplessness. So consult an endocrinologist with the reports.

Continue the thyroid meds and consult a psychiatrist for depression if it persists. Depression is often a symptom of hypothyroidism
