I am a diabetics patient

Good Day,
I am 21 years old , before 2 months doctor's said i have type 2 diabetics , i am in a very good control for two months it never crossed 160 , All i wanted to know is can i have a permanent tatoo..?? very small one ..?? as my the doctor i consult isa very close family i could nt ask him, please let me know , wheather i can hv a tatoo.
