It may be a ligament sprain our small tear.
A proper examination itself may reveal the true nature of the injury, or an MRI may be needed.
Once the diagnosis is made, a simple injection with platelet rich plasma or prolotherapy may heal it.
If it is doesn't heal satisfactorily with that, a keyhole surgery may be needed
